A TRIBUTE TO MOTHER

Mother, her love, her commitment and her passion
Originated as a product of the joy she felt at our conception,
A proliferation that caused her, a sense of mixed emotions
Because she knew, she was on the road to fulfill a great mission…
Impossible, as she asks herself, “How can I possibly be able?”
To accomplish such a task
And how can I make a good impact
As her child will be born into a world that’s harsh
And perilous
And it’s quite obvious, to her that this is no easy feat
From her womb to the labour room bittersweet
As she makes preparation for her child to meet
The unknown
Her mind is blown, by this fragile being in her hands
She senses the urgency as responsibility demands
Her to stand up, and
Be a mother
As there can be none other
Than she, who has to be
A guide to this precious gift,
Not willing to miss
A single second in this,
Child’s growth and development
Because she understands that God has spent
A lot of his time
Knitting and weaving this beautiful design
That He wants to use for His purpose
So she is now focused
On forming a bond
Mother to her son
A mother to her baby girl
Ready to hear their concerns
Yet hoping that they’ve learnt
From her life lessons
She no longer questions
She knows how important she is to them
As she raises and nurtures her children
To be honest and decent young men and women
Then and only then
Can she actually feel content
And feel a sense of pride
That’s emanating from her inside
And know that she can safely smile
Because she’s done a good job
So come on people let’s show her the love
And respect she deserves
Let our voices be heard
As we pay our Tribute to Mother

MYSTERY 11 (RESPONSE TO RODELL JULIEN'S "MYSTERY"

Your hearts beats
A rhythm to a tune that words can't speak,
Intensely trying to describe the thoughts of your mind from its apices,
But the onlookers will try but never understand this melody, that…
Your heart beats,
Intimately trying to connect with another heartbeat
But its percussion is misinterpreted because of its complexities
As it cannot be defined by the simple-minded and their discoveries
Your heart beats
Silently singing sweet songs in harmony
Symphonies that soothes caresses and stirs intrinsically
What is vital, by the perfusion of life-giving substance to the body.
Your heart beats
Each lub dub a line in its story
Pulsating waves of anticipation through your veins and arteries
As the story develops into an enthralling mystery
A misery,
When the message is deciphered incorrectly
Because people just, do not listen carefully
To what your heart is saying when, your heart beats

TRUE INTIMACY

He says that he loves you,
That, he desperately needs you
And he wants to be intimate.
So you trust him,
Because you truly love him,
So you decide to open wide your gates
You give him more and more
Until he doesn’t have to knock, anymore
There is no more resistance, just open doors.
So now he’s got all he wanted
And he boasts to his friends all about it
Then leaves you and your life’s a mess.
You cry and cry and cry
And you’re wondering why
Why do you have to go through this stress?
You have many regrets
As you try hard to forget
The many times you gave him of yourself
Is this really intimacy?
Do you know what to be intimate really means?
On the other hand, is it what is taught to us by society?
To be intimate comes from the Latin word intimos
Meaning desiring to know what is on the innermost
Not just a physical connection
Based on pure infatuation
That ends up in separation and emotional devastation.
Instead, it deals with the exploration of the mind
Often left out because it is seen as a waste of time
Because it’s not properly defined
Taking it out of the context for which it was designed.
It is easier to get a fix real quick
When the party is over there is no need to commit
You are satisfied and not caring a bit,
Because, the relationship was based only on 5 minutes.
Where is the intimacy in this?
It has a spiritual factor that is often missed
Because you really want to be on that list
Not knowing you are becoming another statistic.
Love is a part of God’s character
Therefore, intimacy is something that everyone should seek after
You see without it nothing even matters,
And every relationship that you try will be a disaster.
And once people come to this recognition
That it is only by spending time in effective communication
That this will be the only solution
For loves true inspiration.
That they’ll learn what is true intimacy
And know that it isn’t the nonsense that is shown on TV.
That we often take and make a reality
But that intimacy helps, you learn to love unconditionally.

I THE HYPOCRITE

I the hypocrite;
My mouth is like saturated clouds filled with gossip,
Bearing false witness and bad talking is my business,
Like a thunderstorm I wreck havoc and make plenty mischief.
Yes it’s me the hypocrite;
Getting on and behaving like if I perfect,
My outside is decorated nice, but inside filled with filth,
I have a beam in my eye and I try to dig out others specks.
Who me the hypocrite?
Yes I don’t even know that I am a misfit,
All I ever practised was to create serious conflict,
Like I never hear the saying “when yuh have nothing to say spit”
The talking big hypocrite;
My mouth full of empty words and deceitfulness,
Nobody ever knows when I speak what the truth is,
Having an excuse for all the wrongs I’ve committed.
The under the bushel hypocrite;
I supposed to be shining Jesus light but others don’t see it,
Because I like to please me and I like my waywardness,
And I boldface enough to take Jesus name and then misrepresent it.
The in need of a Saviour Hypocrite;
I recognise that I am a sinner and unworthy of God’s grace,
But I know that because of Jesus’ sacrifice I could access His forgiveness,
If I confess my sins, repent and turn by His strength from my wickedness.
And so Jesus my pray is,
That you cover me with your blood and your loving-kindness,
Cleanse me Lord I need your forgiveness,
Help me Lord to be no more; I the hypocrite.

LOVE HER.........OR........LOVE HER NOT

There is this girl who leaves me so confused
Not that it is her fault it’s just that I cannot choose,
Whether to love her…. or…. to love her not
And each day, I’m faced with this difficult spot
Love her… or…. love her not?
You see when I choose to ignore what I feel,
Saying that my feelings cannot be for real
She does something, to appeal, to me and sends sensations through my entire being.
And I start seeing,
Things about her I cannot ignore,
Like she looks so fine when she walks through any door
Plus, the way she smiles, makes me want her more
But, should I love her… or... love her not?
Then; there are these problems,
And I do not have any of the solutions to solve them,
Like sometimes the way we think is like we are from two different worlds,
And I am one, who dislikes arguments and doesn’t want to get on anybody’s nerves,
So I decide it’s best that we remain friends,
Because I’m afraid that if anything goes wrong, that our friendship would come to an end,
So tell me should I love her… or… love her not?
I hope to you I am making sense,
Because I am writing this in a bit of bewilderment,
And I decided that I needed to vent,
To find out if she is my heaven sent?
Because, she is just so extraordinary,
Words cannot even explain the splendour of her beauty,
But there is still confusion whether to give this relationship a shot,
You tell me, love her… or… love her not?
Then there are times it feels like we have so much distance between us,
That, I wonder sometimes if it is worth all the fuss,
I know loving her would be a plus,
And all I would have to do is adjust, but
Love her… or… love her not?
Is the question I have to answer,
And my heart keeps telling me that I should love her,
However, my mind reminds me
Of all the difficulties,
Then I finally see,
That is only God could say if we should or shouldn’t be,
Because he is the only one who could help me sort,
whether to love her… or… to love her not.
